Live Editor Overview

Cinamaker’s in-app Live Editor lets you edit your previous Camera, Audio, and Media decisions from your recorded sessions. We call this Live Editor because, unlike other video editors, Cinamaker’s multi-camera, multi-input video production platform allows you to edit live while recording and live streaming (production), and/or edit afterward while in playback (post-production).

Cinamaker’s in-app Live Editor now gives you three (3) editing modes during post-production that make editing faster and more efficient;  Roll Editing, Instant Editing, and Cut Editing.

Roll Editing

This document describes how to use the Cinamaker Live Editor to edit your recordings using Roll Editing. Using Roll Editing, you can make easy on-the-fly editing decisions of your recorded Cameras, Audio mix, and/or Media elements while the video rolls.

Roll: Overwrite-Mode

1. Launch Cinamaker Director Studio.

2. Open the recorded project you wish to edit (after that you will be navigated to Live Editor).

3. In Live Editor click to enable Roll Mode

4. Select Overwrite (default mode)

5. Select which categores you wish to edit; Cameras, Audio, and/or Media

In order to overwrite previous edit decisions while you roll, select the category(s) you wish to edit. By default, all three categories are enabled;  Cameras, Audio mix, and/or Media.

NOTE: In Overwrite mode, your previous edit decisions will be overwritten, so be careful to enable and activate only the categories you wish to overwrite.

Cameras - With “Cameras” enabled, click the camera slot you wish to make active, then click the Record button. The recorded video will begin to roll in playback and overwrite the previous camera selection. As the video continues to roll, you may continue to make camera edits. Click the Stop record button when you are done making camera edits and your edits will auto-save. You may then review your fresh camera edits by cueing to the point in the timeline that you began editing cameras.

Audio - With “Audio” enabled, Open the Audio Panel and adjust the volume settings to each of the desired audio sources, then click the Record button. The recorded video will begin to roll in playback and overwrite the previous volume selection(s). And as the video continues to roll, you may make additional volume changes. Click the Stop record button when you are done making audio edits and your edits will auto-save. You may then review your fresh audio edits by cueing to the point in the timeline that you began editing audio.

Media - With “Media” enabled, Open the Media Panel, add, edit, and remove media objects and templates, then click the Record button. The video will begin to roll in playback and overwrite the previous media decisions. And as the video continues to roll, you may make additional media changes. Click the Stop record button when you are done making media edits and your edits will auto-save. You may then review your fresh media edits by cueing to the point in the timeline that you began editing media.

6. Click the Big Red Button to begin Overwrite Recording

As noted above, click the Record button when you are ready to overwrite each of your camera, audio, and media categories. As soon as you click Record, the slider will run through the timeline and overwrite the changes in real time as it rolls. When you are finished simply click the white stop button.

Click the arrow to exit Roll over mode, You may then review your overwrite edits by cueing to the point in the time line that you began editing and tap the Play button.

Roll: Append-Mode

In addition to Overwrite-Mode, Append-Mode can be used when you wish to make Camera, Audio and/or Media edits without overwriting and replacing existing decisions.
